Handsfree Siri

Finally, I have Siri available to me without having to push a button on the iPhone 5C,

With the latest IOS 8.0 release, I activated the "Hey Siri" feature (Settings - General - Siri) and I plug in the phone to a USB charger in the center console.

Having the phone paired to the car, I now simply have to say "Hey Siri" so the phone hears me and the audio mutes and I hear the normal Siri beep and I can issues Siri-capable commands, hearing her reply over the car speakers.

No need to get Apple Car Play (which MB won't back-install into the 2014's) anyway...

Neat technology, right?

Does the phone have to be plugged into the USB or will Siri work through Bluetooth since the phone is already paired?

the phone needs to be CHARGING for this feature to switch on.
And it then works via the bluetooth

Great tip thanks

I found so much more functionality when the phone is plugged into the Benz cable (with lightening convertor)

Just tried this using the Lightning cable and it works great! I used it to search for music (out of 5,500 tracks), make a call, and also searched for a business and then executed a call based in the search results. This was all done without ever looking at te screen. Thanks for the tips guys!

all "information" is passed via Bluetooth..
