Distronic Braking

Question:
When Distronic kicks in and brakes your car (like when the car in front of you slows down), do your brake lights engage and warn the car behind you? I really hope so!

Having distronic drive reminds me of being behind he wheel with a new driver... Last minute braking and aggressive braking that is unnerving ....

Can't agree more about the aggressive braking. I have resisted using the adaptive cruise around town because I'm concerned that the Distronic's 'sudden' braking will cause premature wear of the brake pads (or cause some car to rear end me). Same can be said about the Lane Assist...it's the braking action that is steering the car back into the lane. Once the novelty of the system wears off, I may be disabling it to preserve my pads.

I agree it is unnerving. It puts the pedal to the floor quickly. On the flip side it may have kept me out of an accident. I would like to think I would have stopped on my own but you never know.
