Yes, a few bits of trim have been replaced with aluminum. But in MB's defence, some significant additions were added as 'standard' features for the 2015 E250BT (Canadian version):

1. Passive Blind Spot assist
2. Attention assist
3. Collision Prevention Assist +
4. Sirius Sat radio
5. 18" alloy wheels
6. Active LED intelligent lights now part of MPP

Finally, a price reduction of $475 compared to similarly equipped MY2014 E250BT.

pano roof
rear window sunshade

That is a really nice package and most likely what customers would order anyways.

Yes, I agree !

Coupled with the Canadian Premium Package (MPP), which includes:

Parktronic with active pkg. assist
Heated Steering wheel
360 Camera
Media Interface
Adaptive highbeam asssit
LED Intelligent light system
Hands Free access
Easypack Power Trunk Closer
Keyless Go

these two packages make for a well equipped E Class !
Heated front seats and flip-down rear seats are standard for Canada.

What's even more interesting in comparing the US equivalent to my E250BT4M is the huge difference in retail pricing.
Using the MBUSA website, the US list price for my E250BT4M would be US$69,760 + dealer pdi etc.
The Canadian list price for my car is CD$69,300 (+ pdi & frt.) or in US dollars US$60,984 !!
Almost US$9000 less for a similarly equipped E250BT4M !!!

However, American dealers tend to discount far more off list prices than Canadian dealers do, so some of the current Canadian price advantage is offset by this practice.

Late to the party

I always prided myself as being very observant. Although I am late in posting...ignorance is bliss. I took the opportunity to closely examine my 14E350 while others were watching football games on Thanksgiving evening. I was curious if I had a pre-faceliftW212 production car since I did not know how to detect the actual production month. Like poster #40, Fintail. I have (1) burl wood trim everywhere except on the bottom of the side doors (i.e., that was replaced with aluminum). It is on the entire console (i.e., behind the steering wheel), (2) on the sides of the arm console (as illustrated in pics below), (3) the rear head rest is present, (4) adjustable netting on the sides in the trunk, and (5) standard gas and break pedals (non-aluminum). I get so focused on some things that I become remiss in others. I am glad that the forum exist to educate me and keep me well infirmed.

But now that we can't un-see the black plastic, I've made a couple of crude photos of the trim pieces that have been changed/decontented between pre- and post-facelift W212 in case it helps anyone in tracking down parts. Let me know if I've missed any pieces here. Thank you all for bringing these details to light!
