e class 2014 AC button always on

Somehow after using 'Max Defrost' with E class 2014, I am unable to switch off 'AC' button; the red light of the AC button always stays on. The only way to turn it off is by using 'Off' button, which turns everything off. Anyone has any suggestion of a quick fix?

Is the defroster still on or is it in Auto mode? The system uses the AC to remove humidity in air to aid in heating and defrosting, even in winter. All cars work like this. Actually AC is on whenever it is in Auto mode also, even in winter.
Of course, you should be able to turn AC off by pushing the AC button.

AC button no longer toggles the red ac light regardless of in auto or manual mode or any other button combinations I tried. I guess it is not a huge problem since temperature control still works as it should.

I certainly hope it is just software reset. I worry that dealer may take things apart unnecessarily and break something.

May be Konigstiger can help here. He seems to have immense knowledge about MB parts / mechanicals.

Brought to the dealer. No code. Ended up having a/c pushbutton replaced and a/c module re-initialized ("software update and relearn all a/c stepper motors"). Problem gone.
