MB Extended Warranty Pricing

My car is approaching 50K and during my last visit dealer offered the following options. I did not negotiate any of these prices. It was a print out the service advisor gave me. What do you think and can the price be negotiated? Any advise highly appreciated...

5yr 75K $2530
5yr 100K $3162.50

6yr 75K $2760
6yr 100K $3450

7yr 75K $3105
7yr 100K $4312.50

Yes, the price can be negotiated. There are some dealers (do a search) who are known to be quite competitive. You can purchase the MB extended warranty from any MB dealer and it will be honored at your servicing dealer. I purchased one up front with the car. First I got a quote from one of the dealers I found on this forum for what I thought was a decent price. I then asked my selling dealer if they would match it and they actually beat the price! I paid $2399 for a 6yr/100K (actually adds 2yr/50K to the new car warranty). It is transferrable if you later sell privately and it can be fully refunded if unused before it kicks in (after 4yr/50K standard warranty), and beyond that, even if used, can be refunded on a prorated basis. I figure if I end up wanting to keep the car for a good while, I'm covered and locked the price in already. Like anything else, it's basically insurance and YMMV whether you think it's worth it or not. Good luck.

If you buy out of state you should save on sales tax too. Erin at MB Santa Rosa and Dan at MB Austin are highly recommended. They offer best prices over the phone - no need to haggle with dealer.
