2015 E350 Wagon
iPhone 5/COMAND interface challenge
I have been enjoying my 2015 E350 wagon, with the exception of an irksome issue with playing music from my iPhone 5. The pairing is completely fine. However, the COMAND system will not display the full music choice menu (e.g. by artist, by song name). I can choose "Normal Track Sequence" or "Random Tracks". I can jump ahead + X tracks or go back - X tracks. Nothing else.
Service at the dealership was stumped--said that it must be something with settings on my personal phone, since the full menu displays when paired with my husband's iPhone 5. Any ideas? I've been hearing a lot of music I haven't thought of in a while, but I'd like to be able to play what I want!

I don't think you can access the phone music library through bluetooth like you can when you plug it into the USB. Through bluetooth you can only skip forward or back. Well that has been my experience.

Hmm. This is more information than the dealer provided. When you are in the COMAND Audio menu, what do you select that has worked? USB Storage isn't doing anything for me, but maybe it's something different? Thank you for your reply!

I think library access via BT was added with the upgrade to comand 4.5 in 2012. Since I have a 2011, I just know I don't have it. Since one iphone is acting differently than another I would blame the iphone, not the car. Delete the profile on the car and the phone and try repairing then. If that doesn't work then maybe you need to perform a factory reset on the phone in case an app or something else is interfering with this process.

That's the way my 2011 W212. If you play it via BT you can set your phone to play everything in the music library but you an only select the next song and as you noted it is normal track sequence or random.
If I connect it to the USB port in the glove box I get all the functions you are looking for.
