Ash Tray
Why not provide a rubberized insert for the ashtray that could be used for storage since practically no one uses the ashtray any longer. Or just have a delete that could use more of the space and provides storage. I just took the ashtray out and put in a rubber liner cut from a mouse pad.

2014 E350 also restored: 1969 Camaro convertible SS 1957 Chevy Belair 2dr hardtop
Actually the insert that MB sells does not fit well in a E350. It is basically worthless and a waste of money. Look at pictures . Just remove the ashtray chrome and line it with leather then apply new chrome on top. Takes about an hour Cost is about $8

I remember that now, but I haven't seen one in years. I seem to recall it was in the glovebox to use if you wanted. I'll need to check it out with the MB parts department. Thanks

Why not turn your ashtray into a phone dock charger? see link below...

I thought old school ashtray and lighter are pretty sweet! Not many cars have them these days. I personally ash out the window, but the coil lighter is much preferable to matches/lighters if you enjoy a quality smoke.
