Cool Pics of mods so far!! White 2012 E350

So i just wanted to show everyone my progress with my mods so far....trying to keep it as clean as possible!! Debating if I want to plastidip the trunk spoiler black??? you guys think it's too much?? Btw, pics don't make any justice to how good the anthracite grey looks on the wheels. 6 coats and 2 coats of glossifier...just perfect!! Notice the grille is plastidipped with black!

That looks great - I don't think it needs anything else. Those plastidipped rims look awesome.

Thanks man!! You have to do at least 2 coats of glossifier to get the anthracite grey to look just like a true metallic!

Looking awesome. Did you dip the wheels with tires on or did you strip them off the car? Anything you can share about your process?

Thanks!! I didn't take the wheels off as I don't have enough jacks to do this lol Basically, i just wash and dry the wheels real well, cover the brakes with plastic bags and then start painting. This is the 3rd time I do it and just gets easier everytime. I do recommend using a spray trigger tho...it will make your life so much easier!!! dipyourcar.com has a ton of DIY videos on youtube of how to dip wheels on or off and how to apply each different plastidip product. Black is the simplest as is the only thing you need but some true metallics are mixed with other colors. They also sell everything to need for any project. These guys are cool!!

Thank you whoever invented plastidip!!

Nice - but in my opinion, you need to rethink the center caps.

From a distance they look like too shiny/bright. Almost like a cop car with hub caps.

Otherwise -

Looks really good! You took the trim off on the bottom of the doors & fenders, I think, and I like the body crease underneath so much more.

The center caps I would try to plasti-dip color matched to your wheels and cut/peel off to reveal the chrome star and surround for a complete custom look on some awesome wheels.

Thanks!! Yeah kinda hard to peel off just the star. I'll give it a try whenever I have time but for now, the black center caps are good!

Thank you guys!! I'm glad somebody noticed it lol

Well, I took the license plate mount and cut the bottom so it fits where the lower grille is. Then I took 2 black cable ties (long ones so you have room to work with) and attached the mount to the grille from the 2 holes left since the bottom ones were cut off. Make sure it's really tight...that thing will never come off!! Then you fold your license plate from the bottom or top, depending where the name of your state is, and with pliers you make the edge really flat. You can also cut the plate but then you won't be able to unfold or put it back on a regular size mount if you have to. Then using the same screws that you use to put the plate on the mount, you install it just like you would on a regular mount.
Once you fit and cut the mount, everything will make sense!! I think the license plate looks some much better and less intrusive on the lower grille IMO.

Show some pics if you do this mod!!

Sharp ride!!! I'm a little partial to the white w212's though. Bang up job with repositioning the license plate cover too. Glad we're not required to mount those bad boys upfront in KY but if we had to I'd definitely follow your lead with that mod.

Already ordered the AMG style trunk spoiler from JBSpeed. I removed the 'BlueEfficiency" badges as soon as it got home. Also plan to add window tint in the next week or so. I'm considering the flat badge and grill that looks like the E Coupe. And I plan to get the software that enables Navigation inputs while moving.

Thats all I have planned for now. I considered different wheels but I like the AMG wheels pretty well. I don't want to mess with lowering a 4Matic

Oddly enough - this one came off lease from New Jersey - Your neck of the woods.

haha go figure!! nice coming mods ...small ones but necessary!! I agree with the wheels man...they're just perfect for our Es! The whole point of getting a white car for me was to paint the wheels black which, as you can see, look so sick!!
