K2 Clutch replacement 722.9
Just thought you guys might be interested in seeing what the inside of your 722.9 transmission looks like...
This is with the housing off.
This is the K2 assembly
This is the replacement .
This repair will correct a hard 2-3 up shift after all the gear shifts are adapted of course. Please excuse the bench. The transmission bench was occupied.

Epic shots; KEep us up to date on all changes in the car and overall cost. Was it warranted? i know people complain of shift harshness usually revolving around 3rd. Either up or down.

Finished up today by adapting all shifts and it is on again shifting as good as new. Maybe better than new, actually. This was a warranty repair. Parts cost Mercedes about $1500 so multiply that by roughly 1.5 for retail then add about 15 hours labor at $160. That equals one arm and one leg.... or a kidney.
Never the less, the transmission is happy again.

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
In my first 2014 E550 that had a hard/rough downshift from 4-3 from day 1 that valve body never fixed and 100 adaptations never fixed... finally they broke that baby down (the trans) and replaced a couple clutch packs and it was fixed -- THEEEEEN I lemoned it.

Over at my dealership we have a really good team of technicians. Ive been in the business a long time and these guys are by far the most well round team ive worked with. One guy particularly I could swear was born in a benz. HAHA! That said, Its very rare we send a vehicle out the door with the possibility it returns with the same issue. The VGS (transmission control) has stored parameters called adaptations. The adaptations are a byproduct of mechanical sequence. In MOST (not all- we are talking about benz here) cases if the adaptations are extremely close or have exceeded min/max parameters then there will almost always be a mechanical failure. By changing the software and/or adapting the gear shifts you are essentially masking the real issue. Eventually the prblem will occur again.
