Maintenance Contract Refund....

We traded in our ML350 for E400.
We had a 2 year/3 A&B Maint contract from Mercedes that's now one yr old & only one A service completed.

Can I transfer the balance of that contract to the new E400?
or can I ask for a pro-rated refund?

Thanks,

I think that question would be best answered by either the dealership F&I person or Service Department where you have your service done or purchased your new E400.

MB maintenance contracts are transferable but NOT refundable, and extended warranties are both transferable and refundable (pro-rated of course).

Thanks,

I assume you talk about the pre-paid maintenance plan.

I bought it for my 2011 E350 but when I traded my car in I could not get either refund or transfer it to the new owner, which was a MB dealer. I also could not use it in any way for my new ride.

The dealer said that if I sold my car directly to a private party the new owner could use the pre-paid service posing as me and they would not come after him about it.

MB may have changed the way this works but 3 years ago it by the rules was that you loose the unused portion of the pre-paid service contract.

I should have been more clear in my reply, maintenance is transferable to a new owner of the car. Not transferable to a different car. Arrie is correct.

Dang.

That's why I didn't buy any of the pre-paid anything from MB dealer for my new E400...
