Buying advice - Distronic Plus with Steering Assist
Time has come to let my w211 go for a w212.
One of my main areas of interest is the assist systems as I do 8 hours trips from time to time. So I want to get one with Distronic Plus with Steering Assist.
Is this available only post facelift?
Any other differences pre-post facelift on the other assist systems?
Btw are pneumatic seats still available?
Thx and regards,

Okay I'll try to answer this. If anyone sees incorrect info please let me know.
The distronic plus with streering assist was introduced for the face lift. So that includes the 2014-2016 model years only.
The steering assist was the new feature if I'm not mistaken. In the past it was just the distronic plus.
I have it in my car and I absolutely love it. It was an essential feature for me when I got the car and it works great. If you have any questions about it I'll do my best to answer it.

My 2010 E350 had distronics, keeping safe distances between vehicles at speed. My 2014 E350 has the newer version with Steering Assist that helps stay in the lane with my hands on the wheel at speeds over 19 mph.
Get the steering assist as it eases the long driving when there is a side wind impacting the car. AND it's fun to have the car drive and steering in commute.

Yep, and below 19 mph it will allow you to keep your hands off the wheel for as long as you want if you're following a vehicle ahead.
It will want to change lanes with them if they decide to so you need to be aware of that. But at such a low speed it's easy to catch. Really great for traffic and I've used it in heavy traffic here in LA and it worked great. It reduces the stress of driving in traffic tremendously.
