Wow, I had Mbusa buy back TWO brand new 2014 e550's in the time you have still had your car in the shop

Not sure why they're still messing around with that car, it's time to lemon it

My problem is that I actually like the car. I just want it to work. I'm seeing many of the same issues are present in the loaner 2016 E350, the probability is high that it's a manufacturing defect that affects all of their US E350s.

For some reason I can't help but shake the idea that this doesn't happen with the European/non-US versions of them.

I think people's expectations of what a car should be and how it should be equipped have far outpaced automotive engineers' ability to design all the "gee-whiz" technology people want in their cars.
I don't think I'm asking a lot here. I want an engine which doesn't stall out or completely die when it's shifting from 2nd into 3rd gear, I want a transmission which shifts properly, and I want the AC to blow cold air when I tell it to. These are things which a $15k Kia can do. Ironically, the advanced options on the car have been (mostly) working. The time the advanced features stopped working was due to Dealership#1 putting in the wrong part AND putting the wrong firmware in the car.

I have learn one thing from all my years of driving German cars, one have to accept some minor issues when driving a German car, the reward outweights the risk. In beachbunny's case, I would get rid of the car if possible. The rattles are probably from all the repair attempt and disassembling of the interior. These intermittent electronics issue can be very hard to troubleshoot and sometimes one just need to know when to call it quits.

Time for them to buy this car back IMO.

In case you need more reasons to get rid of your lemon the 2016 distronic package has steering assist so you really don't have to do anything.

I'm pretty sure you have enough history here to invoke lemon law.

Does it have the pano roof? My co-worker complains all the time that his VW with panoramic roof cannot cool enough because of the heat allowed through the roof, and also because it has the engine stop/start feature, therefore the AC is not running when the engine stops in traffic.

I have the 550, and I keep the AC set at 75 because it gets cold instantly and stays there. I don't have pano roof, and I also live in FL. Maybe the system on V6 is smaller???

I just bought it with 65K mi and everything works perfectly.

One problem with Pano roofs on all vehicles is that they use a thin roll-up type cover instead of a solid, insulated cover. This permits a whole lot more heat to come in through the glass, which intensifies heat to start with.
