Tire selection for 18" on E350 bluetec

The bluetec model is supposed to have runflat tires due to the fact that there is no spare. I bought mine with regular tires on it and I've just added a tire patch kit and pump to my emergency kit. The car came with 17" rims but I bought a second set of 18" that had snow tires on them. I want to use the 18" rims for my regular tire.

I'm going to be driving across the country shortly and I want to put runflat tires on but I want to make sure that the size I'm buying is correct. The rims had snow tires on them when I got them and I think the size was 235/45R18 (It was either 235/45 or 235/40, I can't remember which). No stagger.

I think the OEM size used on these rims is 245/40R18. The person I bought the rims from purposely bought a narrower tire for snow.

At this point, I plan to buy the Bridgestone Driveguard.

Does anyone have any better suggestion for tire selection or size?

Thanks
