20,000 Trouble Free and Cost Free Miles

I purchased by 2011 E550 20 months ago and just hit 20,000 miles with the car. The first 20,000 miles have been completely trouble free. I bought the car as a CPO and at the time MB was offering the next two 10,000 mile services for free and i just had the 60,000 mile service done. The dealer did a great job getting the car ready for being a CPO and did the brakes and replaced all 4 tires so it was almost like buying a new car.

I have had one warranty claim and it was the wood replacement. I didn't know about the fading wood when I purchased the car and it looked OK to me. After purchasing the car I joined this forum and found out about the fading issue. I took the care in and after 9 months of waiting the wood was replaced. The new wood looks unbelievable and was worth the wait. Until it was replaced I didn't realize how much it had faded. Thanks to the forum for the info about the wood.

Overall I love the car. The V8 has lots of smooth power while actually providing much better fuel economy than i ever expected. Of all the things I like about the car I think my favorite feature is the distronic system.

I am looking forward to the next great 20,000 miles!

I hope my first 20k are as trouble free. I am stuck with the faded wood. And my comand control knob won't register the rotating clicks. Still happy with car though.

That 60k service is expensive with B, brake fluid and plugs. Good thing you got the first two free. Sounds like your next big service will be at 80k. 70k should be cheap.

I'm coming up on my 60k service, how much should I expect to pay?

I really don't know the cost. When i got the car it was just about 40K in mileage and they said they had completed that service. The incentive for CPO's at the time was two payments, two 10K services and 1.9% interest so I got the service for free.

They change a lot of fluids as well as all the spark plugs so it is probably much more than the 50K.

60k is the B service, brake fluid and plugs. My dealer quoted me just over $1,000 for that. Local Indy would have been more like $600ish. Since I was my first service and the 80k service is pricey with the ATF change, I went for the prepaid maintenance 3 pack for about $1,050.
