2012 E550 - Can the Secondary Cats be Removed

I recently purchased a 2012 E550 4matic. On my W211 i was able to remove the secondary cats and resonator without any check engine lights or issues. I loved the sound and wanted to know if its possible on the W212. I know the rsonator can be removed but I havent put the car on a lift yet to take a look and the secondary cats (if there are any). was hoping someone here has either done it or knows its not possible. thanks

Erik

This post is one but I'll reply anyway. The secondary cats you referred to are the bulb looking resonators before the main resonator. They can be removed without any check engine light problems. There are no sensors attached to them like the Cats. I've removed all the resonators on my E550 coupe and have gotten a lower raspy and louder exhaust note when accelerating. I have experienced no drone or cabin vibration but certainly can hear the louder exhaust note when accelerating from inside the cabin .

The sedans and the coupes are different. I have confirmed that the 2012 sedans do not have secondary cats just 2 sets of resonators. And I removed all of them and replaced with straight pipe
