Service B after purchasing a CPO

Service B after purchasing a CPO
I purchased a CPO 2011 E350 with 27,000 miles and an extended warranty through the end of 2018. At almost 40k miles, I'm due for a Service B. However, wasn't most (all?) of the stuff done during the certification process also done during the Service B? It seem like it'd be a waste to pay $600+ for this if it was done 10k miles ago. The only thing I'd like changed out is the cabin air filter, which I think I am capable of doing myself.

No, your car should have had a "B" service at around 20K miles. Get service record from dealer. They don't necessarily do any service during the CPO process. My car called for a "B" service 5 weeks after I bought it. I twisted the dealers arm and got it done FOC

Yeah the 40k service is a big one. Brake fluid, I think, tranny fluid and maybe coolant too. Runs about a grand in my parts.

I'm curious about the same thing, I bought a 2011 E550 2-3 months ago and recently got a warning saying i'm approaching service "A"?
I figured the next service would be the 60k but now this is throwing me off as i'm only at 54k and it says I need service "A" in 300 miles.

If it's a 2011, you may want to check to make sure the transmission fluid was done at the 40k service.

That makes sense. Thanks. I'll contact my dealer and find out...

Carmax had changed the oil on my car even though MB had done it 6 months/1,000 miles earlier. So the car said I had 6 months left before the next service. Like CarolnaBluetec suggested, I got the VMI history from my dealer that showed all the services done. I noted the time and mileage for each so I could track how long it had been for brake fluid, ATF, etc. so I knew when I would it would need it. I was able to push off the 60k service until 1 year after the Carmax oil change because the brake fluid and B service stuff was still within 2y/20k from the last B service.

My car said Service B exceeded by 300 miles a few days ago, so I was planning on taking it to an Indy with good prices and reputable this coming weekend. All of a sudden it said Service "B3" exceeded by 600 miles this morning. What is the difference between "B" and "B3"? I had a road trip to Delaware and another to South Jersey in between but I also feel like the miles jumped more then they should've. Oh well just want to know if I should expect different maintenance with the B3.
