E500 Elegance or Avantgarde EU-Spec Import Possible?
I love the Elegance and Avantgarde editions of the E500 sedan from 2014+, but only the Euro spec models. The thing is, The U.S. spec Elegance (or "Luxury") styling is just so watered down, no chrome exhaust tips, only one wheel style is allowed, and it only appears with a V6, no V8 upgrade.
As for the Avantgarde, it's missing from the U.S. lineup, that really gets on my nerves. Why Mercedes-Benz? your my favorite brand. Why do you send simplified, watered down versions of your cars to the U.S. with less options?
Another thing, the clowns here in the U.S. stamp those god awful looking yellow reflectors on the bumpers which disrupt the beautiful styling of the front end.
Since I'm someone who buys a car and drives it for at most 10 years, I want the authentic Mercedes-Benz experience. If it costs more money to import and tweak the car to make it legal on the roads for the United States, I'll do that.
I'm extremely picky about detail, if you couldn't figure that out above^
Any advice?

I'm not such a big fan of the AMG line. Here's the variant I'm talking about:
Its essentially an elegance with a few of the sport features.

It's my understanding that only preowned models can be imported into the US. Silver Star in Montreal used to sell many preowned to US customers. There are shops that officially convert them to become US legal. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply, but I'm not asking about new cars. What happens if I'd like to import slightly used, no more than one year old car ? Also what if this is not MB dealer ?

There is no problem with a used car for export. Another benefit is that Canadian cars are cheaper due to the high US dollar.(1.00US = 1.32Can)

What about factory warranty ? If a car is 6 months old, I bought it in Canada and import it to US - will the car still be covered by factory warranty the same way as in US - from the original purchase date ?

I think the warranty would be valid. I have had warranty work done on my car in the US while on holiday without any problems.
Your biggest problem will be finding a slightly used 2015 E550. The V8 is not a big seller new therefore your chances of finding a slightly used one are very small.

Factory warranty transfers with the vehicle between Canada and US and vice-versa.
Current model year used GL350s are still going for 85-90% of MSRP unless they have a history.

Its a shame that you cant get a V8 model W212.5 with the Avantgarde or Luxury styling in the U.S. so your only choice with styling for the E550 is the AMG-line. My friend has a 2007 E550 luxury. Since then, it seems the available choices regarding styling have made a complete U-turn.
