How long to get new wood trim?
Dealership has agreed to replace my walnut wood trim. Has been on order since July 29. How long has it taken for others to get the trim?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It seems to be taking a few weeks based on recent accounts shared on the forum. The days of 6+ months wait times were a while ago. Perhaps it helps to be a squeaky wheel.
Perhaps you shared and I don't recall, but was the replacement done under factory warranty or some other coverage?

all done in a new york minute!
I wasn't so lucky. On my recent purchase 2010 E350 CPO with various degrees of faded wood, the dealer only replaced the one worse part - the trim running from passenger side to instrument panel. They got that part in a day.
Once I pointed out to them that the tires on the car were dry rotted, they replaced the tires the next day.
What exactly they did to CPO the car remains a mystery to me... perhaps they practice equal opportunity employment and the CPO inspector is blind ?

Think about this one. If a proper CPO is done and anything questionable repaired the dealer absorbs the inspection labor, parts, and installation costs. Even the best inspections sometimes don't predict failures so assuming the customer will be happier with it is false, though admirable (but agreed the chances of success are better). So the dealer can invest nothing and only repair actual failures if/when they occur or fix everything they try to scare you with (leaks are the best ones). The customer is happy either way as long as you honor the CPO warranty If you were a business what would you do? Cynical? Yes, but I bet I'm right. My apologies to the two dealers that actually do an inspection.

This is interesting reading, because I didn't think the trim in my 2010 E350 Sport was even real. I thought it was plastic! The exposed edges feel very thin and feel like plastic to me.
I had commented a while ago about my noisy Pirelli tires. Well....the rear tires had to be replaced so I opted to buy another pair and wait to replace the entire set when hopefully they wear out at the same time in a couple of years. $500 or gamble $1,000 on another brand. I hope it wasn't a mistake!

It took me about 3 months to get my new wood trim set. Just had it done. The dealer replaced the whole car's wood trim, no questions asked, no input from me. Now it looks fantastic, with deep dark lustre that was non-existent before.

Had mine in for the annual oil change and the dealer suggested that the wood should be replaced. Kept the car about a day to replace all of the wood trim. But, this was about 3 years ago.

CPO vehicle (now under ELW) was originally refused by dealership, called MBUSA and received approval, been waiting ever since. MBUSA says I can't switch dealerships or I'll "Go to the back of the line." Dealership says it has no idea when parts will arrive.

The Pirelli P Zero Nero came on ours. I think they are loud and I was on the fence about biting the bullet and replacing the full set. I hear a lot of good things about the Continentals. Thanks for your reply! Is yours the E350 Sport?

If you bought a CPO under factory warranty (not 4 years old yet) then the factory warranty covers it. CPO terms do not cover it. However, you could get it covered if negotiated as part of the sale.
