I have the same problem with my 2016 E350...Another member said it just slips into tabs, but I can't seem to figure how to release them. Getting back in would appaer to be easier. Let me know your progress. Thanks

This place is a joke.
It snaps in and out. The tabs can be very strong, and sometimes they get smashed into place from scraping the bumper. Put some gloves on so you don't get cut and give them a good pull straight forward. You may have to carefully pry with a plastic wedge so you don't damage the bumper.

Mine is in there pretty tight. Would suggest prying from the top of the trim or the bottom. Got a little loose, back and forth so far. I really appreciate your time. Thanks much.
