differences in 2013 drivers assist vs intelligent drive

debating between a 2013 S350 - which is what i really want- and a 2015 Eclass

the only reason for buying a newer car is the drivers assist type features

anyone that has used both and could give some input and whether there is a huge difference with intelligent drive, would be much appreciated

The intelligent drive software is more agreeable in day-to-day driving where the previous versions were a bit 'rougher'. And then of course STEER ASSIST which maintains your position in lane.

I don't think your decision between the two cars should come down to the Intelligent Drive features as the two cars are vastly different in every other way, but good luck - both great cars!

I bought my 2011 E550 almost entirely because of distronic lane assist/cruise control feature. After owning the car almost a year, those features are neat and all... but the best part about them is that they convinced me to buy this car.

I use them occasionally but if someone told me they were going to remove them and I could trade in my car for what I paid, or keep it... I would probably keep it.

****ing love this beast.

since i drive this vehicle 35,000-40,000 a year looking for safety for myself and others

imo my 2006 E320 is awesome, great mpg, fast and comfortable to drive
but of course no safety features like the distronic, etc

so for this purchase the main reason is drivers assist

i agree the 2 cars are vastly different

2015 E250 - great mpg but a newer motor that i dont know as well, concerned about the reports from europe of timing chain issues and the fact that the timing chain in in the back of the motor, also prettty sure 0-60 time is like 8 seconds
reading a lot of complaints on the comfort of the seats which would be a deal breaker for sitting in the car 6-7 hours each day
intelligent drive

2013 s350- so so mpg, 30 mpg maybe 32, i know this motor well, its problems, how to take care of it etc
the s class is known for excellent comfort
prefer this car in looks and comfort but intelligent drive not available

hard decision , will be a year or so before i buy, just doing my research now

Between those two cars, the S350 is a no brainer. The engine alone would decide it for me. I can't imagine driving an E250 from a power perspective.

I drive my car 3-7 hours a day and I absolutely hate going from my E class to a C class. I would imagine the S to E is the same difference. Get the S.

Yeah i am leaning hard toward the s, agree about the lack of power in the 4cyl

But you have to love that 40mpg!!!

Would just love to have the intelligent drive...

But think the 2013 s class has a lot of great safety features like that
