I have the 2014 with MB Tex. I find the seats one of the most comfortable for me.

I have the leather but not the multi contour/active. I have done several 1-2 day 1000 mile drives (3 Colorado>Minnesota/vice versa), and multiple 4-6 hour straight shot drives. I'd say that I don't find the seats uncomfortable, but they are far from anything special. They look nice but feel cheap considering the cost/caliber of the car. Having owned an S class, several 7 series, Range Rover, and others, it by far feels like the lowest quality of them all. I love the appearance and the size is much more manageable as a daily driver/parking in the city/etc, but I definitely have thought the same thing.

I understand what you are trying to say but the cars you mentioned are several orders higher and costlier than the E class in question.

I haven't had any comfort issues in my E-Class, but the longest I've been in it is only 2 hours. I'm pretty sure I could do more with no problems. I haven't actually had any problems sitting in any cars for long periods of time, including cheap cars like the Nissan Quest, Ford F-150, GMC Sahara, Toyota Sienna, Toyota Camry. And maybe some others. I've actually never been on a road trip in a nice car like an S-Class :B

2011 E350 BlueTec
I have a 2011 E350 BlueTec with multi contour/active MB Tex seats.. The driver seat was orig. comfortable but in the last three months it has become very uncomfortable. I now develop discomfort in the seat about 30min into a trip. Is it possible the seat is breaking down inside and exposing seat hardware, etc?

Does anyone have or know someone who has replaced their front seats with MB OEM seats? My MB Tex is cracking and I found a guy who fixes it but the fix isn't lasting or new cracks are developing. I think I just need to replace the front seats.

Thanks in advance

Very fair statement. The Range Rover HSE, and a few 3 series BMW's I've had also bordered on just feeling more "solid" I can't really put my finger on it. While they aren't in the same league as an s, 7, or a8, I also feel for a 70k sticker price the appointments just aren't quite there...

Prime example (and huge surprise when my car arrived). AWD mid/large sedan shows up... NO pass through on the rear seat and the rear seats don't fold down. My practically base model BMW 323ci commuter had both. It isn't even an option you'd expect to have to look for.

The 2010 to 2012 BMW 5 series also did not have standard fold down rear seat or pass thru.

I sat in my passenger seat for the first time today. It is comfortable. The driver seat is not. I guess the middle of the driver seat has sunk (sunken?) over time. I'm guessing MB won't do anything about it, but I'm going to give it a shot.
