Road trip -uncomfortable driver seat and Car burned motor oil
I did 2500 miles road trip last week. I do not drive the car everyday. The first thing that really bothered me was the driver seat. I have the multicontour seat. After driving for 2hrs my back was so tired and the seat was very uncomfortable. I could not get the seat set up correctly.
Today I check the motor oil. The oil is just over the min. mark on the dipstick. I did drove the car hard in the hills. I added 1qt. of motor oil. I been doing my own oil changes. I added 5k miles since the last oil change was done. Is this normal?? Will the car show any kind of warning message if the oil is seriously low.

The W212 is everyday trip comfortable for me. I've noticed as I gracefully age that I eventually have comfort issues on long trips with any driver seat, regardless of make or model. But I have found that I can stay comfortable for longer in my W212 multicontour seat than any of the previous cars I've owned.
If I start to get uncomfortable, I start to use a combination of the seat massage with/without seat heat. To keep the seat heater comfortable for longer, I use the lowest setting and keep the vented seats on. It's like getting a warm massage. Of course, it would be better to take breaks when needed, but I hate stopping unless it's for gas or food.

I do wish my car had cooled seats like the CLS does though.

I know the E coupe seats are different than the E sedan since I have been in both. But I haven't spent any time in the CLS to know what those are like. I wonder what is different about the CLS seat from the E sedan.

If you want a great car for road trip the w222 s 550 can't be beat. Recently did la to Austin and return. Like sitting in your favorite chair. The seat adjustments and the massage features make it easy to.adjust

Of all the MBs ive owned, my W212 has the worst seat. Very uncomfortable. Im actually thinking of finding E coupe seats from wreckers to replace em, if thats even possible. But not on the priority list atm.

Not sure why everyone dislike the W212 for long trips. A month after I got mine, I took it on a 9 hour 450 mile trip. Found it to be extremely comfortable and after 9 hours didn't feel the least bit fatigued.
Over the last 3 years I've done that same trip about 9 or 10 times and each time found the seats to be very comfortable and the car to be very comfortable for long drives.
We're taking a 2 week road trip at the end of the month that should cover about 2500 miles, and I'm really looking forward to taking my E350 wagon for the trip.

I think the all leather is the problem. Sometimes i wish i had MB tex on my 212. Youre right, easier to maintain and some would say it lasts longer. But i have all leather on my e coupe and c63 as well but theyre all comfortable as they can get. Not sure what happened with the all leather 212 seats.

The seats in my e350 coupe seem very comfortable, but the longest trip I have taken was only about 4 or 5 hours. I will have a much better sense of their comfort on the cross country trip i have coming up

I agree. The multicontour seats on our 2013 CLS550 are very uncomfortable. It feels like an extreme arc in the middle to upper back that pushes your chest forward. I am trying to convince my dealer to do something. I can't believe this seat fits anyone.

I have my seat leaned back so my shoulders are below the window line... feels like I'm laying in a recliner. I also got a Junction Produce neck pillow, since the headrest in the seat isn't that comfortable (and doesn't go down low enough for me; I'm 5'8). I get antsy on long trips anyway, so all of the long trips I've done in it always end up with me being exhausted, though not necessarily sore. Could just be the drive itself is exhausting.

My MBtex W212 seats are not bad. My longest road trip in these seats was 6.5 hours but I routinely do 4 hour drives with no problems. They are not as good as my 2004 Volvo V70 with leather seats, but few cars are.

I find the seats in my 2014 CLS550 very comfortable, more comfortable than any other luxury brand I have owned. Seats are very personal, its not always one size fits all, there will always be someone out there with different body shape that finds the seats uncomfortable, but in general, the seats in the CLS are as good as it gets for cars under $100K.

im 6'1 and i dont find leather seats in my 550 too comfortable as well , yea there are adjustments , and they work okay , but after car been sitting for sometime air bolsters deflate , and you have to adjust again , unless u have it saved , but to bring it from memory also takes a few seconds , and i cant remember to do it everytime.
plus the leather is kind of slippery , feels like im sliding around when making turns...
so even with multicontour seats it aint so comfy , had c250 loaner with MBtex , and it felt so much better...
more expensive or better looking isnt always better

My 2014 E350 has the most horrid front seats I have ever sat in in any car of any make. My car has only 15K miles on it and the center cushion is sinking down so that I sit on the bolsters. Miserable after only a half hour. If I can't get some relief I will absolutely have to unload this car somehow. I also hate the so-called "comfort suspension" that makes the car handle like a Roadmaster Buick of the 1950's. But the seat is by far the worst feature of this car.

Everyone has different bodies and ailments, so seat comfort can be pretty subjective. I'd say my E350 MBtex seats are fine as a daily driver...but I wouldn't take it on a road trip. My legs hurt the most after driving the E for too long. Anyway the car is too small for my taste (on trips). I only road trip in SUVs.
Plus deer, cows, and hogs like to find my bumpers...higher vehicles help prevent them from joining me in the cabin.

Having completed a 7400 mile plus road trip from California to Maine and back this summer, my impression is the seats on the E350 coupe are very comfortable and supportive. My daughter, who rode shotgun, complained about her back after the trip, but she was trying to use it as an ersatz bed

Did a 2700 mile trip a couple month ago. A few days we were in the car for 12 to 14 hours. Seats were very comfortable, both drive and passenger seats.
Kids in the back also seemed to be very comfortable.
