2010 Mercedes E550
Parked it for a week and it lowered

I recently parked my 2010 E550 in a multi-level parking garage for 8 days while I was out of town. When I returned, I first thought that I had a flat rear driver side tire but the tire was fine. Instead, I noticed that the back drivers side of the car had lowered down. Confused, I unlocked the door, inserted the key into the ignition, and it started up just fine. There was no error message and within 15 seconds or so the rear drivers side raised up to the proper height. I drove it home and didn't notice any other issues or warnings. Has anyone ever had this happen?

Airmatic suspension. Lifts the car once engine is started. It will lower the car (either intentionally or unintentionally) if left sitting for a while.

My E350 wagon has the same thing in the rear. I can hear the pump about 10 seconds after I start the engine. A minute or so after shutting the car off, I can hear an air wishing sound and see the rear lower by about an inch.

That is normal especially in cold weather for it to lower some if left sitting for extending periods of time. However, it should not sit all the way on the tire so to speak. That is a sign of a slow leak that will over work the compressor over time.

Yes I had this issue and they fixed it. If you search my post history I had a post about airmatic and I listed all the things the dealer replaced to correct the problem.

IIRC the dealer test for this is to see if it settles more than 20mm in a 24 hour period. I could have the measurement wrong, but the point is that some leakage is 'normal' over time. I had an overnight drop one time in 2 years of owning the car. But it hasn't happened since.

Correct. I left mine for two weeks a couple years ago and it settled down a small amount in the rear from being idled. It is normal and I have no 24 hour leaks. I would not be replacing air springs if the car only drops after sitting for 8-10 days.
