Windhshield camera and sensors
hello everyone
so today i was looking for a place to hard wire my radar detector next to rear view mirror , so i took off the cover right behind it , and found that i have a Night Vision camera (but i dont even have that as an option in my navi screen)
so i was wondering if i can maybe get it activated somehow? or what is that for then ? factory installed but never programmed?
and another question , can i plug in my radar power wire to any of those plugs?units ??
P.S. as far i understand the other unit is a rain sensor right?
any help is appreciated. thanks.

It is a camera and programmed to be used by lane assist. I have lane assist but no distronic.
I think night vision uses a different camera as it uses infrared.
also distronic has a sensor in the front grill. You can tell by a big black square plastic piece in the middle of the grill. The sensor for distronic is behind that.

okay , but as far as Lane Assist. , is there any additional sensors or cameras or buttons that in a loop with the camera? or the camera does everything it just has to be programmed to make it work??
thats already some good news

I do not know. I only know that in my car, the camera in that location is used for lane assist.
I would imagine it has to be coded into the car for it to work.
Do you not have an icon in the center dash speedometer area of a car with two lines on the side that turns white or green?

Do you have blind spot warning? I think the lane assist is included in same package as blind spot warning.

I think that is for the attention assist which you have on your 2010 even though you don't have distronic. Later models had lane keep separate from distronic but I think in 2010 and 2011 you didn't have that feature unless you also had distronic.

Yes, P2 has the auto headlights when you push the left stalk forward. So the camera is looking for oncoming headlights, in order to turn the high beams on and off.

Not the light switch, the left hand turn signal switch.
Pull it towards you and high beams on, let go, high beams off.
Push it away, you get an A on the dashboard, and your high beams are on auto. At more than 30mph, if there is no car coming towards you, the high beams will go on and off automatically.
RTFM!

I have a similiar package to you OP. P2 but no distronic, lane keep or blind spot detection.
I really don't need any of them but since my tints are pretty dark, at night blind spot detection wouldn't hurt.

I just got pulled over last week for them for the first time in over a year. I didn't get a ticket though or a written warning.
