My New E250 has cracks in the same place on both exterior mirror housings or covers. No evidence of anything hitting them. Crack is pretty long it is on the window side of the top of the cover. Anyone else experience this ? They are the folding mirrors but I do not have them on auto-fold or have I but once or twice folded them manually.

Yes, I have them too. I purchased my second E class about two months ago. When I picked up my car I did notice them. My car is palladium silver and the line is quite clear when you use a flash light and follow the line you can tell that it is from the factory molding process. Why MB did not smooth that out, I don't know. The good news is that when you sit in the drivers seat and you're rolling phat down the road you don't see it at all!

I just examined again and you are right it's a line i the molding, really strange. I was all set to go in and talk to my service adviser. Thanks for the insight

I believe it's actually factory paint protection film, applied to the front side of the side mirrors for extra protection. Lexus also applies this film the their side mirrors, very hard to notice but when known about, can be seen similar to photos posted.
