14 E550 or 15-16 E400 Sedan?

Hey W212 guys. I currently have a 13 c350 sedan and my lease is coming to an end in about 4 months. I need a bigger car and was really looking at W212 E class because I really like the styling and not interested in the W213 4cyl.
My question is, what is the difference between the outgoing 2016 E400 vs 14 E550 sedan besides the engine choices? Like pros & cons? I am really leaning toward the v8 as I am a mod freak and my c350 was pretty slow even with tunes and exhaust mods. Not sure how the e400 would do.
Are there any things to look for when searching for either car? My c350 has been flawless, and I have not had to take it to the shop beside normal A-B service. I don't drive often as I live in DC and currently have 18,000 miles on a car I have had for 39 months. Looking at Autotrader, I could get a pretty good deal on E550 with about 30K miles still in the $30K+ range.
What are pros and cons
Any feedback would highly appreciated.-- Thanks!

Ones that I saw on Cars.com were mostly in mid 40s (certified with 30k or less miles, and with pretty good options list). I guess bare option 550 without CPO could be in the 30s and since you may mod it anyway, no reason to look for a CPO car.
Anyhow I believe one difference between 14s and 15 & 16 is power folder side mirror. Not sure if that came about in 15 or 16 but doesn't seem to be for 14.

You just confirmed my E550 thoughts.
Please tell me you have sound clips of your exhaust. PM me if you can.

Is the gas mileage that bad with the V8? My c350 isn't that special on gas either. I will be doing mostly City driving when I do get a chance to drive. My car usually sits parked for 5 days a week and I mostly drive when going to the grocery store or cruising on weekends. I live in the Brookland Area close to the Metro station so I just take metro everyday to work.

Wow there are 2014 E550s in $30k+ range already?

Here's another one but mileage is just over 40K

I will be looking around February-March, unless my dealer plans to do an early lease termination with me and gives me a super good deal on something. Otherwise e550 all the way.

2013 E550 4Matic
I was getting 30+ mpg when I first got it, but then again I was still driving it like my E350... now it's down to like 18/19 suburban/highway mix. Sigh. Also my heavy wheels cut like 3-4mpg from that right away.
