Rocker Panel Trim

I know this has been discussed in other posts, but I didn't see any 100% answers. I am 99% sure the side molding 2126980162 and 2126980262 will fit on the odd void space on the E350/E550 Sport. Now, I'm trying to decide if I could really spend almost $500 for those pieces.

I just wrap mine in black and call it a day. Hard to justify $500 when I can get it done for easily below $100.

Compare these pics- the E63 without the Carbon Package is the Dull Stainless look like the front lip of the E350/E550

That would be an incredibly easy and ideal application for vinyl. I'd definitely vote to wrap them vs replace. (Also more easily reversible if you sell the vehicle). The 3m Carbon Fiber comes in a variety of finishes and looks great if you desire carbon fiber or they have a large variety of blacks as well.

Vinyl would definitely be a less costly and easier alternative. I am very familiar with 3M options, but there is something about wrapping large parts of my Mercedes in vinyl that bothers me. I have done side markers and small accents, but never anything that prominent. I have also looked at the colors and patterns, and nothing comes close to matching the Satin Steel look of the Front Lip like the OEM piece. The Black version shown in the picture is the Carbon Fiber piece from the E63 Carbon Package. Normally- it is the Satin Steel.

I've done quite a few of these. It is definitely doable in vinyl. If you need materials to do them, let me know and I can supply them for you.

I have also been thinking of doing pre cut pieces for these side skirts, if there were enough interests.

Do you have a vinyl that resembles the Brushed Steel Front Lip?
I would be interested in a Precut set.

+1. Interested to wrap my front lip as well. Just deciding whether I shall do gloss black or carbon.

Maybe you guys can help me clarify what is in that link.

So there are two versions of the side skirts that I've done. One that is just of rocker panel molded in there, all one piece. Then the second one is of a silver/chrome trimming that goes on top of the standard molded in one piece version? Is that correct? Which one is the one that's showing in the link you have there.

Here are two pictures of the cars that I've worked on, showing the two versions that I am referring to.

Molded in, one piece:

Chrome/silver trimming on top?:

The "Chrome/silver trimming on top" on the E63 is what I am referring to. The E-Class Sports have the recessed area but are missing the Chrome/Silver piece.
