Lighting Package hard to find..

Hello All

I am selling my 2015 Audi S4 and coming back to MB. I'm excited to be coming back. I'd like to find a CPO 2014\15 E350 Sport 4Matic with low miles and at least P1. There are many 2014s coming off lease in the northeast but very few seem to have the lighting package. Was this a rare option? I had the lighting upgrade on a 2012 C class and I'd hate to not get it in an E350.
How is the standard LED lighting in the 2014 E350? Or is worth waiting for one with the lighting package?

Wait for one with the lightning package. I was in the same situation contemplating as there is not that many of them. The adaptive LED is awesome! It automatically controls high and low beam, it turns with the wheel etc. go try both of them, but you don't want the regular LED once you tried the adaptive 😆

I definitely agree. I have the adaptive lighting package and love it. Automatic high/low and even in-between adjustments is much more convenient here in the suburbs. Those LED lights themselves are expensive though. My right headlight needed to be replaced (a pre-owned) a $4.5k job estimate for one new headlight and installation. I got the original seller to do it free though - the failure was close enough to my purchase to make fixing it a better option for him. Split folding rear seats is a very useful option as well. I don't care for the panoramic roof and have heard too many negatives about it to ever want one. Many people find the drivers' aids to be useful but I didn't get them -- I may install euro aspherical side view mirrors to deal with the blind spot.

Same situation here. Waiting for 2014 E350 with lighting package. Finally found one with 18k miles and CPO. It's awesome to say the least. Had HID before but LED is future for sure.

Yes, it is relatively rare, and yes it is absolutely worth it. The DRL pattern alone is very distinctive and well worth it.

I suppose the auto high beam is the same that I have with my bi-xenon. Where I live, it rarely comes on due to all the street lamps. However, on a recent trip to another area I was truly impressed at how well it works and the benefits of the extra brightness when no one else is around.

Yes, I'm pretty impressed with it as well, comes on gradually so unless you're looking for it, it's not that noticeable.

You just started the thread I wanted to start a few months back before I found the car that I love.
I wanted an E350 with 4Matic, Pano roof, Lighting Package, and of course Sport. After a long search, I finally located the exact car and can't be happier.
I can't tell you how many compliments I get on this setup.

Good luck with your search.

OP, wait for it otherwise this ^ will be your post after a few days of settling with a car with missing features that you wanted.

@eLs13: its possible if you have a lot of extra cash. another option will be ebay aftermarket but wont function exactly as oem. or trade your car in with the features you actually want/need. more practical that way.

Yeah, with MB, the parts alone are typically 2-3x what the option cost and on a used car, the option doesn't add that much to the price of the car so you will end up paying about 3-4x more for it once you factor in parts and labor and won't get anything extra when you sell it.

What is sad is that Mercedes still puts halogen on ANY of it's cars. They're supposed to be creme de la creme right? Fricken mini vans have bi-xenon now. Sheesh.

Well this looks pretty unanimous. I'll try to patiently wait for one with the lighting option. Thanks all for your thoughts. I'll post when I find it ....

They went to LED in 2014 on the E class. Not sure what other models still have halogens. I think the Bixenons were actually brighter than LED, but LED cost less and they got rid of the headlamp washers when they got rid of the bixenons. I'm not sure if it's MB or the buyers, but most cars have few options, that may be to keep the price low or people don't really care to pay the price for all the fancy options. There are very few used cars for sale that are really loaded with options.

Lighting package is very nice as the LEDs are active. That being said the stock LED option is still really good. If you live in a city where you don't use your high beams then the normal lighting is plenty. The styling is better with the DRL in the lighting package though.

Keep in mind that on some (most/all???) cars the P2 package has the lighting package included. I can only speak for my 2013 E550 with the P2, however.

My wife's 2014 GLK has halogens, for those asking. They are fine.

I wouldn't make that the deal killer. You can always find someone selling a set of rims and bolt them on afterwards. You can't really add any options like the pano, keyless go, lighting package, driver assistance package after you get the car, the costs of the parts and getting it all to work right would be really tricky and usually not worth it. Bolting on new rims is simple.
