The cheapest I can find is about $1050 shipped for L or R, I need the left one soon ! Don't buy a used or rebuild one, unless you are going to sell the car soon !!

if your going to change your coils, make sure you also change your spark plug insulator (boots) and the center ignition module located on top of the engine..
and during installation be careful not to bend the coil pack, which can damage the circuit board..
i think its worth paying the extra money to have it installed at the dealer, you will at least have 1 year warranty on parts and labor.
Note:
V12 misfire is like a ghost, super hard to locate the source

Here is my story on my V12 TT misfire: Since the S600 is NOT my daily driver, I drive it only on the weekend, my misfire is only happen when the car is warm ! Cold car start is ok, never get misfire, but if I drive the car to a store for shopping, after 20 min when I try to start and leave, there are 50% of chance that I will get misfire, all I need to do is re-start one or two time, the misfire will be gone and everything back to normal. I never got the misfire during driving no matter how hot is the weather( I am in S. Cal). The check engine will stay on even the engine back to normal, so I scan it with my OBDII scanner and it shows all my left bank 7,8,9,10,11,12 are misfire and plus one code for multiple cylinder misfire. The code is always like that, it never show right bank misfire ! I did some
research and finally took her to a local Mercedes shop and they said is my left coil pack and my car is already on 130k. they will charge me $1400 for the coil pack( which is retail from dealer) plus $300 labor. but I can get it online for $1050 and my friend(used to work for a Mercedes shop) will do it for me for $60 plus some beer !!

If you are getting 7-12 faults only, it is likely the driver's side bank, if its all random numbers it could be the ignition module. If you get new coil packs you get all new rubber boots and I suggest getting new as I got a used one and it was shot. You can look for the part number on your coil packs to verify if they are the revised part or the old one, you just need a flashlight and a few minutes to look. You should also replace your spark plugs if you don't have record of when it was done (I got mine on amazon). When I swapped out my used damaged one for the new one, I got it done in about 30 minutes. If you are fairly handy at all you can do it using one of the how-to threads on here. I work for a group that has a Mercedes store, if you can somehow get a friend at a shop or some other connection, I paid 950ish for mine in July (I believe that was 5% over the parts cost)
