Difference between a factory and an aftermarket extended warranty?

Difference between a factory and an aftermarket extended warranty?
Other than the price of the warranty, is there a difference to me (the owner of the car) whether I purchase a factory extended warranty rather than an aftermarket extended warranty? Ultimately, do I get the same things covered and the same quality parts used?
