2000 model G320 - gearproblem ?

Hi guys, I hope maybe some of you can advise me in this case.

My 2000 model G320 with 130000 km have some issues with the gear-shifting. The display only shows P-R-N and D. When I shift to 4-3-2 it stays on D in the display… And sometimes it goes into safetymode and lock in one gear, then the display shows nothing. But, If I put it back into park, then f.ex D again it works. Even sometimes I need to shut off the engine, then it works normal afterwards.

I have read around, and understand it can be the electro-hydraulic control unit in the gearbox that makes fault, a MB-workshop read out the code 150 for me and they ment this should be changed.

I am just curios if someone else have experienced this ? From what I have read it might be the gear-selector that causes this, any thoughts ? Wanted to ask a bit before I order parts and start repair ;-)

Thanks in advance !

Trond M.
