Buying 2015 G550

I'm officially starting my quest today to find a dealer that will sell me a new 2015 G550 at invoice pricing. I know many people will gawk and say that it's impossible or that the car justifies the full MSRP. I'm just a guy who thinks that everything is negotiable in life including the fabled G-Wagen.

What has your guys' experience been with negotiating a lower price on your G class? Did they laugh you out of the dealer or sit you down to close?

Good luck
I would wait for the new 550.. It will have driver controlled shock dampers.
Huge uptick.. But invoice...zero chance

My dealer offered 4.5% off MSRP on our initial discussion a few weeks ago. Invoice would be 7.5% off MSRP. Dealer holdback is 1% of MSRP so even if the dealer sells at invoice they are still making $1,600 on the sale. I think you will be hard pressed to find a dealer who will sell at G at invoice, but if you are willing to shop around you might be able to do it.

When you say huge uptick - do you mean in price? When is the new 2016 due for start of production?

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I've already seen prices 3.77% off MSRP so far and I spent only an hour talking to some dealers.

If you don't mind me asking who was the dealer you worked with?

Been pulling on dealers left and right. Best I can do so far is 5.38% off MSRP.

What do you guys think?

Well, I just picked up my new g63 last week. After going back and forth for a few weeks i ended up getting it for roughly 6.5% off. However, i traded in my g550 which i know they will make good on. And my wife and my business partner both purchased AMG vehicles within the past month. That being said, its a unique vehicle. Ive owned a few, and ive always made out pretty well. At 5% off (assuming you dont get a crap rate) or got hosed on the lease you should be able to walk at nearly any time and not be upside down. Never seen a car hold its value quite like these. My advice would be skip the 550 and get the g63. The payment is reslly not that much more, and the car is worth the extra $20k. Hope this helps

That's curious that you traded your G550. What year was it? Are there noticeable differences between the models (other than technology) like ride quality, materials, transmission, power, etc?

I mean, it just looks cooler. no, it is the power (the braking!!!) and the small details like the amg door sills, shift knob and suede headliner. Also, the pa6 package (quilted nappa leather) in my opinion was the major factor as it really spiffs up the interior. Also, with the amg exhaust the rev matching downshifts in sport mode put a grin on my face every time. It really sounds awesome and turns heads. It really devours the road, unlike any SUV in existence. The tuning capability on the engine will blow your mind. Im getting the weistec package put in next month which for $3500 will get you in the 700hp realm. Its incredible!

I loved my 550. But I worship the ground my 63 drives on
