2005 G500 - SUSPENSION - QUICK HELP....
Dear Forum Members:
My 2005 G500 with approx 76K miles. It is shaking/vibrating badly, especially at the 40-50mph range. Tried to have the front end balanced, and wheels balanced, no luck...still vibrating badly.
The tech racked it and found ALL my tie rods are corroded, 2 shocks leaking. MB genuine parts are EXPENSIVE - dealer parts counter priced out the shocks at $400/piece. I priced out some Bilsteins at $122/per shock.
Please give help. I need advice, what aftermarket shocks have you guys purchased, prices and part numbers would be helpful......quick the Gwagen is at the shop and need to make decision by the morning.
Much Appreciated,
Alex

There are a few G class sites that sell authentic MB parts at much lower prices.
http://fourbyfourclub.com/
http://www.eurotruck-importers.com/
I think youll be able to find tie rods on those two sites. As far as shocks go Bilsteins will probably be the least expensive followed by the KONI's. Fox and King are going to be expensive as hell and overkill if you dont hit the dirt often.
