G500 new owner questions on the G500 seatbelts, sidesteps, and headlights

hey there,

On the 2004, the middle seat space does not have a shoulder strap. For now this is ok b/c i can mount a 5pt car seat and it works perfectly.
However, I noticed on new trucks, they have a shoulder harness strap which if I recall correctly, mounts from the ceiling. Is there a way to retro fit the 2004 seat?

What are the brightest bulbs or lighting solution to use on all the interior dome/reading/read lights?

Without doing the updated HID light conversion, are the Phillips Extreme Vision H7 130 bulbs a good solution too? Any other proven options?

Is it a big deal to remove the sidesteps? Do I need to add a trim piece to this area after? I may also consider rock sliders in place..

Is there a rear folding step available to get into the cargo area? Similar to the LR Defender step?

Thanks...Looking forward to this new ride..

Your interior bulbs appear to be 41mm festoons. We have 41mm festoon LEDs if interested. As for lights, are you looking for brighter or whiter? If you want both, you'll have to go with an HID conversion kit.

So after few weeks, decided not to change headlamps. They are Very bright for halogen and see no reason to change. Sidesteps stay on top bc wife cannot get in w/o them. I guess entry is 5-6" higher than LR3.
This is a solid truck!

Looking for an R129
My wife's E320 has the HID and my G has Halogen, but they are projector type, e.g. lens with shutter for shielding the oncoming river when 'low' beams are selected. The quotes being there is no change in the light output of the bulb, nor does it switch to a different bulb but instead, a gate literally drops in place to cut off some of the light. Anyway, the point of all this is if your G has projector Halogens, then it is well worth it to upgrade to HID. Cost is just $160 for both and it's an easy job. I just made a post about it today. Believe me, there is a huge difference between the HID and the Halogen.

Further regarding the $160 kit where the H4 halogen bulb comes out and is replaced by HID bulb, plus a ballast and an igniter (one set for each side). The kit I purchased (link below) included the harness so the CANBUS wouldn't squawk about the difference in the resistance within the circuit due to the bulb. Anyway, this now looks and functions 'exactly' the same as my wife's W211 - which came with HID-projectors. Here's a link to the package I purchased (other than I subsequently changed my mind and getting the 4300° color temperature because it's what the stock set up uses). Anyway, the brand is Morimoto.
