Not sure what year you're referring to but the G-class, at least the newer years, have bi-xenon.

Installed mine two weeks ago. Fishcake is great seller.

If you have G55, then you need to modify air intake pump on the driver's side.
Brought it to the dealer to install after failing to do myself, spend 4.5 hours doing so = $500 bill.

If you have G500, it is plug and play. Can easily do yourself.

For both of them, 90% of time you need to switch to xenon mode in star diagnosis system to avoid 4 errors due to high/low/left/right beams using less/more energy.

Thinking of these as an xmas gift for pops' G500. What is the ACTUAL beam performance/pattern like? Not interested in "great" comments from people who don't want to post pics or are just lying to themselves haha
