I have seen some conflicting things as far as the colors. Does anyone have an OFFICIAL list??

To answer your question, April 19th is the date you're likely to be able to start placing orders outside the US...MBUSA had been accepting orders for two weeks already.

Is mystic white basically just white gloss?

I'm pretty sure Mystic White is a pearly metallic white paint that really sparkles in the sun. Think of Diamond White but better.

My last G55K was Firemist Red … and I loved it!

If I can get the Mystic Red into the US … I would

Otherwise a light colour, like matt silver, or one of the whites … to keep my dog cool when its in the sun

I'm going with magno platinum...the matt paint on my G55 is super durable and looks brand new after two years of desert driving...i just want something slightly darker this time.

I've heard so many horror stories about matte paint from my friends in the paint & body industry. Can you share more details regarding your experience? How do you deal with fingerprints, oils from skin around door handles, etc.?

Despite the few things I don't like about the 2013, I will order one. My choices of paint are magno black, magno platinum or if possible magno alanite grey (edition 79's color).

From what I remember Jimmy saying, MB's matte repels dust and dirt better than traditional paint and requires no maintenance other than washing and drying. I've seen cars with an after market matte and I've seen MB's mattes (magno night on the SL550 night edition and magno platinum on a G55). The difference is day and night. MB's is like silk.

There is a Matt Black G55 in my neighborhood. I never noticed any problems with the matt finish … but I was not looking for any?

Next time I see it parked, I will check out the door handle area.

I wonder about water spots on the matte. Any thought on that? If it etches I guess you have a real issue.

Just got an update from my dealer,MB confirmed production first week of July instead of August,so it should be here in early August.
Still no prices though.....

The second time I saw the SL550 night edition, it had rained. Water spots were more pronounced than on a standard black paint. Not sure what you mean by "etches" but it was just the typical scenario of black cars and water spots after rain; nothing that damaged the paint. If you live in a region where it rains a lot, it would require a little more maintenance to keep it neat. I would guess magno platinum doesn't have the same problem just like standard silver and grey cars don't.

ps: received an email from dealer confirming that only magno black and magno platinum are available for North America. July production.

Only asked about the magno paints. Emailed back, should have an answer soon. Also asked about the available options and whether or not it will have the brush guard.

Not sure if the magno paints can be ordered on all MB cars but I don't see why not. It's just an extra. There was a matte white on the SL63 IWC Edition and another on a CLS IWC Edition.

The designo magno night debuted on the SL550 Night Edition. The magno platinum is the equivalent of a matte grey. Magno alanite grey (G55 Edition 79) seems to be a matte silver; it's lighter.

You have to see them in real life to give it justice. It has nothing to do with the traditional after market matte paints. MB's matte is like silk.
