Tyre Preferences - 2011 G55
Currently have stock 19" Pirelli Scorpions (275/55) on my 2011 G55. Before I blindly dive in and grab another set to replace them does anyone have any recommendations/thoughts on alternatives?
I think Yokohamas are also a standard tyre but not really sure the merits of either. Shamefully, my driving is all city/tarmac so no need to factor in off-road performance in any selection.
Other alternative is to pick up the G63 wheels and tyres from 3WD but I notice that they are 20". I doubt that there are any compatibility issues in switching between 19" and 20" but has anyone got any thoughts on suitability of this? For example, why did MB choose 20" for the latest G63 when 19" seem to work just fine on the G55?!?

I just replaced my OEMs all around on my 2010 and stuck with the Pirellis. I was super close to getting the 3WD takeoffs but ultimtley concluded that I liked the look of the 19s G55 wheels; but the 20's are nice and are direct swaps. The G63s have larger OEM brakes I'm pretty sure and the 20's look a little nicer. FWIW, the 3WD guys are very responsive on PM and very professional.

I'm happy to stick with 19" as well I think. I'm a bit of a stock monkey - you know, if it ain't broke don't fix it type of thing.
However I was looking at the Pirelli offerings and saw that they did a P Zero Rosso for SUV's:

Maybe a bit unecessary as obviously the G isn't a high speed monster but these probably do provide more grip and performance on my tarmac 0-100km/h journeys around town.
Only issue is that the profile is lower than the current as it is 45 v 55 and I'm not sure a lower profile tyre will look at all correct on the G Class! Anybody else got 45's on theirs...?
