Knocking sound from rear of car, not engine related, any thoughts?
Hi-
I've been hearing a constant knocking sound coming from what seems to be the right rear side of my 09 G55 (gas fill area). It's a low knock sound that I can only hear inside the car and has somewhat regular timing (every second or so). It doesn't seem to be engine related since I hear the noise when the engine is off but the battery is on (one key click before turning the engine on). Any ideas on what could be causing this? I recently got an AAS and ESP warning alert on my dash as well, which seems to come and go. Not sure if it's related. Could it be a fuel pump or something like that in that area?
(and no it's not a person in my cargo area! :-)
