Garage find in California

I found this car and I think I need to buy it.

A little history first, I have owned been rebuilt quite a few classic cars. But most of them have been pretty rough and brought back to nice running condition. Now, I have a motorcycle business and have dealt ONLY in motorcycles for the last 12 years. well, almost. About 3 years ago I bought a 1993 500E which may soon be for sale.

today, I came across this beautiful Mercedes Benz that has been sitting in a garage since the late eighties. It is a (?) 1964 230 fin tail. No rust. No accidents. Body looks extremely straight. All of the chrome looks intact and in great condition. Interior complete but with mildew. Original paint. Still shines under the dust and grime. My guess is that it has less then 80k miles based on it's amazing condition.

So...all of you connoisseurs. Please hit me with questions and facts and of course.... What should I offer and is it worth an investment?

I really like it.

Michael

Is there just no love for this car? No one has any comments?

I will be inspecting this vehicle more closely on Monday. If the car is as solid and rust free as it appears I do plan a nice resto for this simple sedan. I see a lot of the SL versions out there. Its time that a family car gets some of the spotlight.

If this "pans out" I hope to have a nice runner for the upcoming events at the 2015 Monterey Historics - Car Week.

So, does anyone out there have some comments?

I didn't buy the car. I made a very fair offer of $3500. They wanted $5500. I ended up buying something else. A sweet 1975 450SL.
