Its all about how old the car is, and how many miles the car has. $7k sounds pretty dang high...and there are incurred costs for doing the Service Payment Plan that the dealer puts in/should put in, the price.

Getting in line to offer strong support to Jason at MB of Elmbrook. The guy is lightening quick with his replies, an excellent communicator and made the whole process painless. I had the pleasure of working with Jason Mayes at MB of Elmbrook last week. I sent him an email and within a few minutes he replied. He was very easy to communicate with and promptly replied to my subsequent emails. Jason was available to speak to me when I wanted more detailed information. Hi All,
I am planning to import 2012 ML350 from usa and i am trying first time MB. I have couple of question.
1. I called MBCAN they told me for US vehicles they honor manufacturer warranty and they dont sell extended warranty.

2. how reliable is getting warranty from third party company? any suggestions about the 3rd party companies in canada ?

I really appreciate your opinions and advices.

1. You could try calling the US dealers in this forum -- Mark Eggleston, Erin Mahre, Jason Mayes. If they can sell you the MBUSA warranty and the Canadian dealers will honor it, you are good to go.

2. I have never bought a warranty from a third party, and frankly would not. I don't trust them, too much fine print. MB has a reputation to maintain.

My advice is either get the MB warranty or get none at all.

I called MBcan and edmonton dealer, they said they dont honour US extendedwarranty. Did i get wrong information?

In your original question you indicated that Canadian dealers honored US warranty; I would go with the information you are getting from MBCan. I purchased the extended warranty in the US (and live in the US); it says it is good in the US and Puerto Rico.
