Here's How to Make Your Old Mercedes Howl Like a Pagani
Yesterday, our friends over at Jalopnik discovered the best way possible to modify your old Mercedes. Turn it into a Zonda.
They lay it out fairly easily. First, you need to find a Mercedes 600 from 1992-2002. Six-hundred-level Mercs use the same V12 block that was in the original C12 Pagani. Then you need to get your hands on a set of equal-length, long-tube headers. The effect of the headers is just staggering, for they turn your almost two-decade-old car into a screaming, evil-sounding Zonda! It’s wonderful. Don’t believe me? Listen to this.

So this is on the v12 that's pretty much just two m104's next to each other right? What exhaust manifolds are they? Also I see a resonator or cat or something there, is that needed? Any more info on this lol.

2003 Merc E-500
No resonators, no mufflers...a knocked out "cat looking chamber" and straight pipes off of long tube headers.
May be getting you 5-10% more power above 4K rpm, but without a little tuned back pressure you are losing the bottom end. May sound awesome, but a bit more show than go.
My 65 GT350 with long tube headers and 2 1/2 dual straight pipes sounds like a Big Daddy Don Garlits dragster....but it isn't..One has over 1500 Hp, the other has 500Hp...sounds the same but doesn't quite go the same.

How exactly is JonothonK the MBWorld editor when he doesn't appear to know anything about Mercedes?? The W140 S600 was produced from 1992-1999 and had the M120 V12 engine which, as one member pointed out, is basically two m104's sandwiched together. The next w220 S600 was produced from 1998-2006 with the M137 V12 engine (1998-2002) and later the M275 twin turbo V12 engine (2003-2006). The youtube video clearly shows a w220 and the MBworld article has a picture of a w140.
