RetroFit Back-up Camera to '07 GL 450
My '07 GL 450 has a July '06 production date and NO rear back-up camera (but it does have NAV). I'd like to order the parts from MB and have the factory camera retro-fitted. Has anyone heard of this being done successfully?

I have done this by using the Nav-tv harness and had it installed by an local auto shop.

You might be able to have this done quite easily based on your build date. Basically the radio will need for the most part either just programming or an conversion board to get add the input. typical cost for the entire job (e.g. video input, camera, wires, and installation is around $1299. We build the interface to add the camera via programming and we also have the conversion kits in stock. give our offices a call and we can check to see exactly which comand version you have.

Thanks for the information, I'll be contacting you shortly to have this done. I know the radio/NAV unit was replaced under warranty just in the last year (possibily with a newer verison?). I'd like it (the rear view camera system) all to look and feel just like it was OEM.

Ok I have a 07 GL 450 with a 5/07 build date n I was told I can get a factory rearview camera install on the late models but when I go to the dealer they tell me it can't be done because no 07s have camera (I know that's a lie) but they have the wiring for it. is there any way I can get one without having to change my command deck?
