Loud pump above the right-front wheel

I have a 2007 GL450 with about 44k miles

Once in a while after I get out of my car I hear a loud pump (looks like a pump) running for about 3 minutes and then shutting off.

I figure that its an air pump for the air suspension, but is it normal to behave that way? Should it run for 3 minutes with that much noise.

This happens often on my 2011 350... After I switch off the vehicle and lock it, a loud fan comes on for about 3 mins or so.. seems to be venting out hot air from underneath the vehicle.. It turns off automatically after a while..

The pump should not be running that long at all, especially after you shut the car off.. It's possible that you have a leak in the system somewhere or possibly the relay is sticking and causing the pump to run.

When letting the car sit overnight do you ever see a corner of the car leaning to one side?

No issues with the car leaning. Short of the pump everything seems fine

Have your dealer check the suspension. You could still have a small leak in the system.
