If it is the real thing and not a rendition then it's clearly a facelift with C class style headlights and not an entirely new model. The side looks identical to the current GL

I don't think the exterior will look a lot different from current model. The main changes will be in interior design.

Porsche 911
Looks chunky and really busy with too many creases and bumps. Not liking it!
Woohoo! Gotta love when the new model is ugly. The last thing I need is my wife coveting a new $75K SUV!!
Also, if the new interior is anything like the new ML - not digging that either!

Are there any clues for the new engines? I keep reading the '13 GL will get the MOVE engines, so I guess the GL550 would get the 402 turbo V8, but what happens to the GL 450? I would hope they don't plan on putting that new 3.5L V6 that makes 302hp in a GL450 replacement.

That's definitely a photoshop. There are a few telltales. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see the new GL look somewhat similar to that, with the exception of what the photoshopper did with the tail lights.

So funny story - there's this Japanese company that pulls better than 530hp out of a V6. And with some mods, the engine can push 700hp. Good talk.

No MB yet
Hmm but you think MB will TT the V6? I don't think so. I was obviously talking about the 302hp V6. Unless its TT or a high torque diesel a V6 doesnt belong in a 5500+ lb GL.

I pretty much agree with all the negative comments. However, I think the angle the photo was taken from, is and has always been the worst view of the GL. It looks sort of like a mini-van from that angle. I think it will look much better when we have more photos. White might not compliment the new body panels either.

Interesting, I'm looking at upgrading my 07 GL450 to a 12 GL350 in the coming days. Before I make the plunge I am trying to find out if I'll have buyer's remorse when the new GL comes to market. I've been looking at the ML interior as a basis for what I think the new GL interior would be. Other than the puck, and moving the seat adjusts to the door there doesn't appear to be any major changes. I would be most disappointed if MB offered a revolutionary new Comand package.

The new ML Bluetec moved the Adblue filler right next to the gas filler, so I assume the 2013 GL350 will do the same. I guess that will mean real tires for the new model instead of run flats. But if the Command system is as clunky as the current model, I've got no reason to upgrade.
