Tips on driving

I just purchased a GL550 and I am a new owner of an SUV type vehicle in general. I'm trying to prepare myself for driving in snow and icy conditions since it should be making it's way soon. Is there a specific setting I need to put my vehicle in to safely drive in these type of conditions or with it being AWD do I just put it in drive and go very carefully? Thanks for the tips!

I don't do any preparation in NYC. I think AWD is enough for our region, but if you really wanna have the best performance - you may order winter wheel/tire package from Tirerack.com. You may choose different size wheels/tires that will fit your budget. In any case - you have to be carefull in winter time.

You should probably get winter tires. Or at least downsize your rims with better wet/snow oriented tires. The wheels on the 550 are very wide and don't provide much opportunity to snow/ice traction. They apparently are prone to hydroplane as well in certain conditions. Try a search and read all you can.

Regardless of what you decide on doing, drive safe.
