Hood Open Warning - My 2011 GL350

My almost new car started acting up this weekend - first it was frequent anti-theft alarm coming on, for no reason (maybe 5 times in one evening) and then the hood-open sign came on (with annoying alert sound) when I put my car in drive - both forwrad and reverse gear. I have opened the hood and shut close many times. I have laso inspected the sensor under the cowl - where hood latch engages on driver side. Nothing seems out of line. Any help in this regard would be great.

I know it is a stretch but I'm guessing the hood switch is bad.

Hood switch or pinched wiring going back from the switch to the control module.

Since it is 'almost new' take it to the dealer and tell them to 'make it go away.'

Unhappy Back in business but lost three crucial hours for servicing

Took it to the dealer and got it fixed. It was the malfunctioning ATA Contact Switch for Engine Hood (part #828602). Really disappointed with the poor quality of MB, considering the car is only three months old and I paid top $s for it.

oh yes and a little tidbit, if the switch is open it disables your windshield wipers.....

and not exactly an intuitively obvious conclusion.
