It looks pretty good. I'm not sure I'm going to rush to upgrade my 2011 GL350 yet, but maybe in a couple years once the dust settles and they start blowing them out $7K below sticker.

Not bad, but I see a lot of VW Tiguan in that rear quarter view. Bloated of course. Will be interested to see in person.
Although, I'm not a fan of the new ML and this appears to take a lot of the same lines.

+1...the exterior front 1/3 is fine but the rest looks blahhh! MB is doing so much better on interior design and fitment though.
Jon
PS I'd consider an MB SUV if they had a Suburban sized version. I could only imagine that price point if they made one that big.

Not sure what I think of all the mesh on the bumpers, what's up with that?
I'm a little concerned there's no method to prevent door dings like the current chrome bar on the GL.
How do the cup holders work on the inside? Are they behind a little roll up cover in front of the puck?
Is it my imagination, but is the COMAND screen smaller?

Eh overall. The front looks pretty darn good however the rear tail-lights don't seem attractive to me.
Also, the exhaust tips are hidden? And is there going to be a replacement for the GL450 or is it only the 550 and the Bluetect and the possible AMG?

Also looks like the 450 will be replaced by a Turbocharged V8? up to 362 hp and 406 ft lb torque. The 550 will get a 430 hp 516 ft lb torque engine. Wow. Can't wait till they're tuned!
Stock, the 2nd gen GL450 should likely be able to hit sub 6.0 seconds 0-60 and that's good! Let alone the even more improved GL550.

The rear reminds me of the X3/X5 with those tail lights. Even the 5 or 7 Series tails look a lot like those on the new GL. Overall I like it. I think it will look even greater in person. That is a GL 350 BLUETEC in the pics, imagine what the GL 63 AMG will look like? I mean this front is pretty aggressive already. Maybe a larger grill like the 350 & 450 vs the 550 today??? Interior is gorgeous, but looks like the Designo to me. Doubt that that will be standard. Will probably look more along the lines of the current ML...

Note also that this has EU plates and signs this will not be the US version. Note the reflectors in the rear bumpers, the noted mesh in the bumpers, and the lack of rear window tint.
There is usually a bias toward sport versions in EU we don't get offered here. Unless it goes to Canada like they did with the last generation also.

exterior is not so good. the rear tails look like they bloated up a F10 5 series tail light and slapped them on.
Interior is amazing though. love the diamond stitching and b&o sound!

The pics must be showing the AMG styling package. In the U.S. that comes with the GL550 as standard and is not available on the other engines. However, in Europe and most of the world you can order the AMG styling package with any engine. As for the GL63 AMG it appears it won't be available in the U.S., at least initially. However, the rest of the world is getting a GL63.
