How do you like the Firestone Destination XL's? How is the road noise?

they are smoother than the contis for sure and handle night n day in snow. the road noise is not bad. i do hear a slight (i mean an ever so slight) drone at 40 but nothing worth mentioning as a dislike.

I went with the Goodyear Fortera SL's in 305/40/22. So far, they are the best tires I've run on my GL and I've gone through Continentals, Dunlops, and Nittos. I really like the fact they are so quiet. The tires have a 500 treadwear rating so they should last a long time too. I will most likely buy them again since the GL really seems to like these tires.

I went with the same set up! I really like the look and the handleing of the bigger tires. I had Dunlop Sport Maxx tires on the OEM 20's and these ride sooo much better and are much quieter.

Thanks for your input on the tires.

Is there any need for fender flares with those 22" 305's on a non 550?

No, they look perfect! Keep in mind that the OP added spacers to push these wheels out to fill the flares.

That does not mean that I am not going to add them down the road though.

Do you happen to know the offset of these wheels? Just curious why you had to add 20mm spacers. Was that to push the wheels out further than stock, or to make them look like stock?

Any issues running such an aggressive spacer setup on such a large/ heavy truck? Thinking about doing something similar on mine.
With the DRA you're able to use the factory lug bolts right?
Best place to get H&R DRA?

The MB8's use a different lug than the OE wheels (conical vs ball). I imagine that he bought new ones a little longer to accommodate the spacers

The reason I asked about the lugs is because the H&R DRA series spacers first bolt onto the hub itself. Then you can in theory bolt the wheel onto the spacer with the factory lugs. (so now 10 bolts per wheel) Just wanted to see his real world experience with that setup.

OK, I see now.

Well, since he is not using the factory lugs I would say that as long as the spacers use the same thread pitch and diameter and as long as your OE lugs do not stick through your wheel longer than the width of the spacer (ie: 20mm for a 20mm spacer) then you should be good to go.

2014 Mercedes ml350 bluetec
Question on tire for Ml350 Bluetec

Would 295/40/22 10mm look good on a 2014 ML350 Bluetec 4matic and give a good quiet smooth ride?
Or would the 305/40/22 be better?

You should pose your question on the ML forum.

Sorry to bump this old thread but OP, any updates on the ride quality on this wheels? Aftermarket replicas are known for bad quality especially on wheel balancing, how's it holding up? Car looks great btw.

Same question here, any vibration or other issues?
