Need a little help form the GL crowd

Okay guys, my 09 is about to come off warranty and my wife feels there is an issue.

I drove it and this is what I found.

In ANY gear between 1600-1900 rpm there is a whirling noise. It is NOT speed dependent, but RPM, as I tried it in EVERY gear using the paddles.

To me it sounds like the transmission pump or TC, as I have rebuild MANY autos in my days, just not a MB tranny.

Anyway, could someone PLEASE try it out in their car to see if you have a whirling noise at this RPM.

My local dealer claims this is normal, and that they had another 09 in the shop and drove it only to hear the same noise. Of interest, when we arrived to pick it up, the other car was already gone

I know it is NOT tires, drive-train, belt, power steering pump, pulleys etc, and I firmly believe that it IS a tranny noise, normal or not I do not know at this time.

THANKS!!!!!

I noticed that in both 2007 C350 and 2010 GL450. Normal for MB.
