I had a loaner GLK for a week
The car has a very strange "lag". Transmission shift has a lag (going from P to D or R to D), audio equipment has a lag (volume control goes up maybe 2 seconds after you raise it).
It's really a shiny turd. That is all.

I had a new P2 GLK loaner once. The wife and I just couldn't beleive how cheap the car was all the way around for a MB.
Very disapointed, and asked for the C300 next time, LOL

Hey....
Cmon now. I just bought one of these.
The shift lag you feel is because you are used to the electronic direct shifter found on our ML's and GL's, while the GLK still has the center console shifter.
I have the Harmon Kardon and notice no issues with adjusting the volume.
The interior is C class based, and yes doesn't compare to a GL that cost +-30K more, or even my ML that cost 15K more, but I bought this to have a compact 4Matic SUV for my wife to be safe in.
Works just fine for us. And apparently several thousand other people.

If you like it, that is ALL that matters, and congrats on joing team MB
And I hear you about the money thing, as I did try and push the wife in the GLK, but it was a no go. So yeah, I know how that can hurt

The GLK is rated as .1 seconds quicker than the GL450 but it doesn't feel quicker. I guess it is the lack of torque. It handles better than the GL but it also feels much cheaper.
I had one as a loaner for a few days and I didn't mind it at all. I thought it was an OK car but, of course, a huge step down from the GL.

I, on the other hand, have achieved 6.4 seconds in manual tip mode since regular automatic mode is only comfort and the shifts/revs are too short in the powerband when the vehicle is WOT. Could be the same, similar or quicker for the GLK so I'm not 100% sure.

What's the official rating? 6.5 seconds? That's what the website says. Actually last time I checked, the GL450 is 6.9 seconds as the official.

If only MB placed a Sport Mode Auto in addition to Comfort.

It shifts very quickly if you are an aggressive driver. The transmission adapts to your or the previous owners driving style and that is probably somewhat sedate since it is an SUV. You may need to do the tcu reset before you try your 0-60 runs.

The GLK has Sport mode. WOT and Sport mode will hold the RPMs between 5k and 6+k. Feels quick.
IMO, 0-60 is useless in the real world. 50-100 is more useful. The GLK handles that change just fine. It is very short on interior cargo space.
The lagging loaner should be reported to the dealer so they can fix it.

But you're absolutely right when it comes to the comfort mode transmission adapting to the driving style and changing.
Guess I'll do a search for a TCU reset.
